KYBA 2021-22 regular season draws to a close; announces Summer Program lineup!

KYBA would like to thank all members for joining us for our 2021-22 season!  Our last few competitive teams and Tykes sessions will wrap up this month, while other programming has already drawn to a close.  We are thrilled to have found a way back to the court after a long hiatus for our players, and we enjoyed seeing so many smiling faces in the gyms these past few months!

Our competitive ONL and ONLX teams, as well as our full house leauge, got in a full season, despite the challenges of a late start and a January shutdown due to pandemic restrictions.  Our ONL and ONLX teams had the opportuntiy to compete at Provincials, with many teams bringing home hardware, and our house league teams enjoyed topping off their seasons with year end tournaments as well!

While Summer is a great time for our athletes to enjoy another sport, enjoy the outdoors and enjoy some Family time and a break from school, we recognize that many look for a means to extend their basketball season.  As such, KYBA is thrilled to announce some Summer options for members who are interested in more time on the court in July and August!

Please see our Summer Programs 2022 webpage for full program and registration details!
We are excited to bring back our hugely popular outdoor league which started in 2021, as well as many past favourites such as ONL Skills and Camp!  You will also find some ONLX options for those athletes looking to continue their elite training.  Programs all have limited enrolment, so best not to delay in registering if something is of interest!

Coming up on June 29 is our Annual General Meeting as well!  If you haven't yet sent in your RSVP, please do so by contacting our Administrator.  The AGM provides members a great opportunity to learn more about KYBA - from our operations, programming, future plans and meeting some of the many volunteers that keep our organization running!  KYBA relies on hundreds of volunteers each season to help us with organizing, planning, social media, tracking equipment, ordering uniforms, coaching, gym monitoring, tournament planning and scheduling, preparing graphics and advertising, sharing photos, planning programs, commitee work on health and safety or discipline, and so much more!  The AGM is also where members vote to approve our budget for the upcoming season- KYBA is a non-profit and as such our members all have a voice in our association, so be sure to join us at the AGM to learn more and to exercise your voice!  We'd love to have you join us.  If you would like to give back and get more involved in KYBA contact our Administrator.  Whether it be one hour a month or 10 hours a week you have to give back, we are most appreciative of all of our volunteers and would love to have you join the team.

Following the AGM, members can expect updates on program plans and registration for our 2022-23 regular season.  We will continue to offer multiple Tykes sessions throughout the season, as well as our house league for players of all levels aged 5-19.  For those players in house leauge that would like a little more development time, we are looking to a full return of our house league Selects program in 2022-23.  Of course, we will also have competitive ONL teams from U10-U19, with tryouts running in September.  For our most competitive high school aged players looking for a top-level Elite experience, you will want to look to our ONLX program.

We thank our #KYBAFamily for your continued support and we look forward to making more memories with you on the court!
